“We want to acknowledge the Miami, Shawnee, Potawatomi, and Delaware Nations on whose ancestral lands we currently reside. We recognize the complex history of adoption in the United States, specifically the forced removal, intergenerational trauma, and violence that First Nations people have experienced at the hands of government-initiated policies and programs. We honor these tribes who are past, present, and future caretakers of our land and seek to use our community and resources to support the ongoing fight for Indigenous sovereignty.”

This land acknowledgement is the beginning and not the end of our internal and communal work of decolonization and will be open to ongoing revision.
